costs & dates

In most cases we ask that you cover the cost of your accommodation and food while visiting a project. This is worked out as R300 per day and covers 2 meals - breakfast and dinner, transport to and from the site, a donation towards the program and a host / guide throughout your stay. 100% of this fee goes to the people on the ground and is monitored by the VSA team. VSA operates as support and does not charge for the service. If you wish to travel on a fully guided voluntour the rate is R750 per day and includes vehicle hire, a guide, park entrance fees, food, accommodation, fuel and tolls.

Volunteers staying for more than 3 months are entitled to a reduction in the daily rate.

Dates

Some of our project work according to the South African school term schedules while others are ‘open’ all year round please indicate your preferred dates when making an enquiry and we will advise on availability.


Payments and Deposits

On completion of the booking form and your acceptance of the quote, VSA we will send you an invoice.
A 30% deposit is required to confirm your placement.
The full payment is due 30 days prior to your project start date.
For bookings made in less than 30 days, full payment is due.
NOTE: all payments must be made in ZAR (South African Rands).


Payment Options

Direct transfer: Our South African Bank details will be emailed to you on request. Please fax us the proof of payment to +27 86 5476668, on receipt of your payment we will email you a confirmation form.
 
Credit Card: VSA makes use of a secure on line payment gateway called Virtual Credit Card services details are supplied with your invoice.
